چکیده
Purpose To develop an unshielded dipole transceiver array for human head imaging at 9.4 Tesla and to improve decoupling of adjacent elements, a novel design with modified passive antennas was developed, evaluated, tested. Methods The new consisted 8 bent folded-end elements placed in single row surrounding the head. Adjacent RF arrays are usually decoupled by introducing circuits electrically connected elements. These methods difficult use because distant location antennas. A recently developed technique using dipoles is simple does not require any electrical connection. However, common parallel can produce destructive interference field itself. minimize this interference, we perpendicularly active positioned them ends array. We also evaluated effect different on transmit performance. Finally, optimized performance varying length folded portion. Results By rotating 90º moving toward array, minimized acceptable level without compromising efficiency. Conclusion While keeping benefits method, substantially less than design. constructed demonstrated good whole-brain coverage.

Double Tuned 31P/1H Elliptical Transceiver Phased Array for the Human Brain Studies at 7 T
Introduction: The improved SNR at 7T provides significant advantages for both H and lower gyromagnetic nuclei such as P, Na and C (X nuclei). Double resonant volume head coils, based on both birdcage (1-3) and TEM (4) designs have been previously used at lower magnetic fields. However at 7T, transceiver phased arrays provide significant advantages for both B1 homogeneity and transmit efficiency...
متن کاملA 7T 8 channel transmit-receive dipole array for head imaging: dipole element and coil evaluation
Target audience: Radiofrequency (RF) engineers, anyone interested in high field RF coils, parallel transmit or high field brain imaging. Introduction: Electric dipole antennas are seeing increasing use for 7T MR imaging. They differ from conventional surface coil loops in many ways. With 8 elements surrounding a body sized tissue equivalent phantom and array of dipole antennas can achieve highe...
متن کاملA New Design of Log-Periodic Dipole Array (LPDA) Antenna
This paper presents a new approach for design of the log-periodic dipole array antenna (LPDA) based on using of different design parameters in the LPDA elements to control the antenna behavior. In the proposed procedure, the design parameters can control the value of forward gain over the operating frequency range, and also adjust the gain flatness. Furthermore, this design procedure can decrea...
متن کاملB(1) destructive interferences and spatial phase patterns at 7 T with a head transceiver array coil.
RF behavior in the human head becomes complex at ultrahigh magnetic fields. A bright center and a weak periphery are observed in images obtained with volume coils, while surface coils provide strong signal in the periphery. Intensity patterns reported with volume coils are often loosely referred to as "dielectric resonances," while modeling studies ascribe them to superposition of traveling wav...

Target Audience: RF Engineers, UHF Labs, Researchers interested in pTX, TOF and ASL Purpose The aim of this work was to develop a 7 Tesla Arterial Spin Labeling (ASL) [1,2] transceiver coil array capable of being used as a stand-alone array [3,4] or in combination with an additional transceiver head array [5]. The transceiver design is potentially beneficial at 7T since it allows for Radio Freq...
